Armuchee is a beautiful community that is rapidly developing north of Rome. You will find that Armuchee has beautiful country scenes laid against a backdrop of mountains down winding country roads. Armuchee is at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and you can see the transition of hills into mountains in the Armuchee landscape.
Armuchee is situated on Route 27 and is nestled between Rome and Summerville, Georgia. It has unique restaurants and shops in the area, along with the only mall in Rome. A strawberry farm in the summer and a Christmas tree farm in the winter provide unique year-round experiences for all ages.
Armuchee has lots of options for getting outdoors and being in nature. There is the recreation area at the Rocky Mountain Project Beach and Campsite, where there are trails, archery, fishings, camping, a beach area for swimming and playing. You will also find James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park with camping, a waterfall, hiking, kayaking, and picnic areas.
Armuchee is home to the Richard B. Russell Airport. It is a county-owned airport that is for public use. Outside the airport is the Museum of Flight, an aviation museum that tells the history of planes during the two world wars. You can view the aircraft on display and even sit in the cockpit of one.
The Armuchee area is a treasure and one of the prettiest places in Northwest Georgia.
