Kingston, Georgia is a small community in Northwest Georgia that is just off the beaten path. It is centrally located between Rome, Adairsville, and Cartersville. With its small main street and historic buildings, it seems as though Kingston was frozen in time.
Kingston has an extensive history that is proudly documented through historical markers and sites throughout the area. There are two museums in the heart of the community. The Kingston Women’s History Museum highlights the history of the area with memorabilia and photos on display and the Kingston Confederate Memorial Museum. The museums are located in the central park of Kingston and are maintained by the Kingston Woman’s History Club. Across from the museums, you find the Fire Station and a Ball Field.
Kingston Downs, located just outside of downtown Kingston, is where the Georgia Steeplechase is held each year. It is a southern tradition where thousands of people gather to spend a social day at the horse races.
Kingston, Georgia is also near Barnsley Gardens, a luxury resort and golf course with fine dining and beautiful gardens.
Kingston is just off of Hwy 411, which connects Rome and Cartersville, and is a few miles from Interstate 75. It has quick and easy access to shopping and museums. Kingston’s population is small, making it a close-knit community.
